Beauty Question: Can You Wear Red Lipstick ?
Posted on Aug 28, 2010 @ 09:22PM - Add a comment

Since the beginning of time there has been red lipstick (think Cleopatra) but many women tell us they “just can’t wear red.”
Well, we disagree and here are some tips for finding – and applying – your perfect red.
Rule number one: Pick the right color. The paler your skin, the more red you can go. We call this the Marilyn Monroe Red.
If your complexion is pinkish, you'll look better in plum shades; yellow under tones are flattered by warmer reds that have a brown base.

Beauty For Real, a new make-up company founded by famous make-up artist Leslie Munsell, is based on the simple principal that beauty is attainable to ALL women.
They sent us their 'See The Light' illuminating lip gloss which we love because 1) the clever little cap lights up so you can re-apply at the concert, or theatre, or basically in the dark and 2) the lip shade is so perfect, lasts, and doesn’t dry out our lips.

Get The Look! Kristen Stewart
Posted on Jun 02, 2010 @ 06:26PM - 1 comment

Kristen Stewart, of Twilight fame, always looks fresh and dewy, as if she’s wearing the teeniest bit of make-up so how does she do it? At the Australian red carpet premiere of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse at Luna Park in Sydney this weekend she also showed off a subtle, sultry look, which we also loved. Celebrity Makeup Artist Mai Quynh shared her top makeup tips for creating Kristen’s look. Just follow along.
Face
”I started by applying mark For Goodness Face Antioxidant Skin Moisturizing Lotion SPF 30 to Kristen’s skin as a moisturizing base. I followed by applying mark Face Xpert Flawless Touch Makeup in Nude with the mark Foundation Brush to even out her skintone. Next, I used mark Good Riddance Hook Up Concealer in Fair/Light around her nose and under her eyes to even out her complexion and mark Powder Buff Natural Skin Foundation in Nude to set her face. To liven up her cheeks, I dusted mark Good Glowing Mosaic Blush Custom Color Palette in Hush Baby using the mark Angled Contour Face Brush.”
Eyes
“To bring out Kristen’s eyes, I started by smudging mark I-mark Custom Pick Eyeshadow in Retro Peacock layered with Corset to the lids. I used the mark Hook Up Eye Shadow Brush to apply the color and then the mark Angled Contour Eye Shadow Brush to blend upwards towards the brows. I then lined the inner rim of her eyes with mark Eyemarker Color On Line in Enchanted Forest. I finished off her smokey eye by smudging mark I-mark Custom Pick Eyeshadow in Corset along the lower lashes followed by two coats of mark Make It Big Lash Plumping Mascara in Raven.”
Lips
“I wanted Kristen to have a simple pink lip to balance her dramatic smokey eyes, so I used mark Dew Drenched Moisturlicious Lip Color in Pink Posey. The lipstick is super creamy and has lots of pigment to keep Kristen’s lips moisturized and looking gorgeous throughout the night.”
