George Takei and his husband, Brad Altman, are boldly going where no gay couple has gone before: The Newlywed Game.
RadarOnline.com broke the news that the couple was participating in the iconic game show.
Takei, who played Mr. Sulu on Star Trek, and his husband are the first same-sex couple to appear on The Newlywed Game. They will be on the new season premiere episode October 13.

“I never dreamed that we would be on the show,” said Takei. “So this is both a delight, a surprise and a wonderful indication of where society has come.”
Takei and Altman, who have been together for 22 years and were married September 14, 2008, will be joined on the show by Christopher Knight (The Brady Bunch) and Adrianne Curry (America’s Next Top Model), and Damien Gurganius and Nicole Brewer (The Biggest Loser: Couples 2).
Hosted by singer Carnie Wilson, the new season of The Newlywed Game will feature celebrity couples including Dancing with the Stars’ Edyta Sliwinska and Alec Mazo, and Lauri Waring and George Peterson of The Real Housewives of Orange County.

The Game Show Network’s Newlywed Game will make history this year--by adding same-sex celebrity pairs to their format.
The network is in the midst of producing special Celebrity Newlywed Game episodes, one of which will feature the first gay contestants ever: George Takei (Sulu from the original Star Trek series) and longtime partner Brad Altman.
The duo married in September 2008 in Los Angeles, Ca., just before the state's Proposition 8 approval banned same-sex marriage.

Newlywed Game host Carnie Wilson is giving birth today, RadarOnline.com has learned exclusively.
The 41 year-old singer turned game show host is having her second child via planned c-section at a Los Angeles area hospital.
Carnie, whose well-known battles with obesity have included gastric bypass surgery in the late 90s, is learning toward naming the baby Luciana, an insider tells RadarOnline.com. Yes, it’s a girl!
The former member of ‘90s pop trio Wilson-Phillips and daughter of legendary Beach Boy Brian Wilson has four-year old daughter Lola with husband/rock guitarist Ron Bonfiglio.
