EXCLUSIVE VIDEO INTERVIEW: Michael Lohan On Failed Intervention Attempts For Lindsay

Posted on Feb 06, 2010 @ 10:15AM - 23 comments

After watching part two of his daughter Lindsay’s interview with The Insider, Michael Lohan reflected on his ongoing crusade to help his daughter and spread his message about the danger of prescription drugs.

EXCLUSIVE VIDEO INTERVIEW: Michael Lohan Shocked By Lindsay's Life On Prescription Drugs

“I’ve been trying to [deal with their family’s issues, Lindsay’s drug use] in private for a long time,” he told RadarOnline.com on Friday. He revealed that the family has made several attempts to help the actress with her unhealthy habits and prescription drug use.

“Dina came to me to do interventions, I went to her to do interventions. For one reason or another they didn’t come into fruition.” He hopes that before Lindsay’s upcoming court date, they will all talk and help “put things in the right perspective” for the troubled starlet.

Michael thinks his message about prescription drugs is one that extends past his daughter.

“Maybe Lindsay is an example for a lot of other people. I’ve been speaking publicly about this prescription drug use…and the partying, negative people in her life and cleaning house. “

He also mused that maybe some recent celebrity deaths could have been prevented if they had heard his message.

“Maybe when I was saying this a year ago about Lindsay, to Lindsay, even publicly, if people were listening- if the Casey Johnsons, if the Brittany Murphys, if the Heath Ledgers, if the Adam Goldsteins- if they heard how I was so anti-prescription drugs …maybe it would have had an effect,” Lohan said. “But we don’t know. Maybe it did have an effect. I got a call from a woman the other night down in Florida whose daughter I was counseling over the phone. “

Focusing on the Lohan household once more, Lohan simply said that right now “there is so much to be addressed.

“I’m not saying time is running out but it’s time to do it…you don’t know what day is going to be your last.”
