For most movies, a $37.1 million weekend opening would be cause for celebration, but Sex and the City 2 isn't like most movies.
The sequel to the 2008 blockbuster (itself a sequel to the TV series) was expected to open at $10 to $15 million more than that, RadarOnline.com has learned.

What's worse, the take declined each day as the weekend went on. That's not a good sign for Sarah Jessica Parker and her on-screen BFFs Kim Cattrall, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis.

The movie had not been well-reviewed but it was assumed that its loyal fans would carry the day, but bad word-of-mouth seems to be carrying more weight.

SATC 2 came in - OUCH! - third for the weekend, following Shrek Forever After and the equally disappointing Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time.

Jake Gyllenhaal celebrated the Los Angeles premiere of his new movie The Prince of Persia at The Roosevelt Hotel’s VIP only lounge Teddy’s on Monday night, and RadarOnline.com spotted the dimpled hunk toasting with friends Orlando Bloom and Leonardo DiCaprio.

Jake Gyllenhaal may be the Prince of Persia, but at the world premiere of his new movie on Sunday night in London, the red carpet was reigned by his gorgeous costar, Brit beauty Gemma Arterton, who dazzled in a princess-like couture. The brunette babe looked absolutely breathtaking a nude, heavily embellished Valentino gown from the Pre-Fall 2010 Collection.
Gemma’s hair was parted on the side and pulled tightly back into a fan-like pony-tail, while perfectly-painted red lips graced her flawless face.

Jake looked dapper in a perfectly tailored, 3-piece suit, as did Sir Ben Kingsley, who regally added a purple tie.

Jake Gyllenhaal has never looked so good. The actor, noticeably bulked up and sporting bulging muscles and a warrior-length hairdo, is a sword-wielding hero in Prince of Persia. RadarOnline.com has the latest trailer from the anticipated, action-packed film.

"This is no ordinary dagger," a voiceover warns as Gyllenhaal's character takes hold of it.
Despite starting out as an orphan from the streets, he rises to become Prince Dastan who is charged with protecting the world from a powerful legion of demon assassins.

Gyllenhaal rides horses, jumps off of buildings, and swings from ropes to get the dagger back to the sacred temple.
"Difficult but not impossible," he coolly retorts about the odds of his mission.
Disney's Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time hits theaters on May 28th, 2010.

If there was any question about why Reese Witherspoon is hooked on Jake Gyllenhaal - these first pictures from his next movie Prince of Persia: Sands of Time - should give the answers.
Those arms...that sword! Jake, 28, says he took on the film because he was "tired of taking myself so seriously" and he even performed many of his own stunts. The Jerry Bruckheimer-produced epic shot on locations as varied as Morocco and Santa Cruz, CA and comes out May 26, 2010.
