Chifundo, the 4-year-old Malawian tot Madonna is hoping to successfully adopt Friday, met with members of her prospective new family Tuesday.
The child held the hand of Madonna's 12-year-old daughter Lourdes as the family got acquainted with their (likely) newest member, whose name translates to 'Mercy' in English.

Madonna visits site of new Raising Malawi funded school Africa. Earlier Pop queen Madonna arrived in Malawi ahead of her expected adoption of three year old Mercy James. Madonna appeared in a Malawi court on Monday seeking to adopt a second child, a girl called Mercy James, from the southern African country.

Madonna will have to wait to find out if her attempt to adopt a 4-year-old Malawi girl is approved, a court official said Monday.
Her application has been adjourned by the court until Friday, Malawi court official Thomson Ligowe told the AP.

The Material Girl may be the big 5-0 but shows no sign of slowing down. Next up for the music icon is another Greatest Hits compilation.
The pop queen is heading into the studio shortly to create a few new tracks to tack onto the compilation, which will be her last recording with Warner Bros. Records. The set list has yet to be determined, but the disc is tentatively slated for release later this year, probably in time for the heavy Christmas buying season.
"We're hoping to have a greatest hits package come out in September," the star's rep, Liz Rosenberg, said in a statement. "Madonna does have plans to record a few new songs for this album.
Figure it will lean heavily on tracks from her three most recent albums, “American Life,” “Confessions on a Dance Floor” and “Hard Candy.”

Madonna's Ex Guy Ritchie on Supermodel Date

With his ex Madonna galavanting around Manhattan with Jesus Luz in tow, is Guy Ritchie following in her footsteps and romancing a model?
On Monday night, Ritchie supposedly went on a date with supermodel Elle Macpherson in London. According to the Daily Mail, the two had dinner at the Notting Hilll Brasserie unti 12:30 am when they left separately to avoid being photographed together.
Ritchie has been linked to a list of women since his split with Madonna at the end of last year. He was rumored to be seeing Lauren Meek, an associate producer on RocknRolla, and millionaire heiress (and Hugh Grant ex) Jemima Khan. Macpherson has been single since her split from Arpad Busson, the French financier with whom she has two children.
The restaurant would not comment. A rep for Ritchie confirmed the two "did go to dinner last night" but would not comment further.

Madonna To Adopt Again?

Madonna, who adopted her son David Banda from Malawi in 2006, might be welcoming another child from the African country to her brood. The pop star hinted that she might adopt again in a recent interview with Nation, Malawi’s national newspaper.
The singer said a second Malawi adoption is "something I have been considering, but would only do if I had the support of the Malawian people and the Government.” Madonna’s adoption of David set off a firestorm of controversy that took two years to resolve. (Because Malawi had previously banned all foreign adoptions, many citizens and officials claimed the superstar acted above the law, and argued that David should be raised in his home country.)
Madonna referred to the experience as “painful,” but trailblazing. “This adoption was essentially was the beginning of the creation of adoption laws in Malawi,” she said. “I am the template or the role model, so to speak, for future adoptions."
What’s motivating 50-year-old Madge to welcome another child to her family? She told Nation that many of her friends think it might be good for her son to have a sibling from his home country and that keeping David in touch with his roots is a priority for her. “He has a big map of Africa in his room,” she said, “with lots of arrows pointing to Malawi.”

The pop superstar has rented a $4.6 million dollar mansion in a ritzy suburb of Palm Beach so she can continue horse riding training.
Madge signed a one-month lease for March. And if you think your rent is high, check this out. She's paying a whopping $35,000. That's just for one month!
The home is located in Wellington Florida at the luxury Palm Beach Polo and Country Club.
