My Comments
Right on.
I will admit that Superbad was quite funny.
It was also the most misogynistic hour and a half I've been subjected to in some time. It amazes me how people refuse to admit that something can be funny and very offensive at the same time. Superbad was both. Depending on your sensibilities, it was more of one than the other. For me, it was a revolting glorification of tireless sexual objectification of women, and the main characters, whom many people will defend as merely comic sketches, were nonetheless intended to be endearing and sympathetic. That is, disgusting boys who treat women horribly were made to be funny and appealing, so that all the men who act like this can also see themselves as comic heroes, rather than beasts.
