No it wouldn't be ironic. It would simply be an artifact of the difference between Clinton and Warner being a case of different factions of the left. The left is very quick to shout "hypocrisy!" at political opponents whose own beliefs include human fallibility in living up to ideals. But by and large the left is very comfortable with their own who exhibit no real intention of living up to a standard to which they pay lip service. In no domain does this seem more the case than in personal integrity.
