Every two minutes in the shower uses as much water as a person in Africa uses for everything in their life for a whole day!" -She's either a bad 'environmentalist' or she's straight up mentally retarded: How much water does it take to brush your teeth? Rinse your brush for a second, turn off the faucet, brush for a minute or two, and rinse your mouth out. Unless you keep the faucet on while you brush there is hardly any water wasted. Sheyrl Crow may be completely nuts as an environmentalist but at least her ideas follow some sort of logic. If what Aniston says about the shower/Africa thing is true, then wouldn't she waste more water by wasting shower time brushing her teeth than by over the sink? I highly doubt she takes a 3 minute shower anyway. Posted by: asd81 on June 15, 2007 7:36 PM Absolutely correct, Mr. Mitchell. When I heard Hasselbeck defend the conditions of Guantanamo Bay, I noticed she almost verbatim had the same stance as Rush Limbaugh. So if you define thinking for yourself as basically acting like a right-wing, less abrasive version of Rosie O'Donnell, you are right, she is an independent thinker. Posted by: asd81 on April 23, 2007 6:51 AM This article made me wonder who was the genius at 20th Century Fox that decided to sharply reduce the opening weekend screenings of 'Borat' (and losing $50 mil in the process) and if he/she was given the boot or a promotion. I believe the justification was that middle Americans wouldn't 'get' it. Anyway, perhaps we should give credit to Zucker for assembling a pretty strong Thursday night this year. 'The Office' and '30 Rock' are excellent shows, though I do wish they would wind down ER at some point. Posted by: asd81 on February 9, 2007 9:49 AM |

I am not sure if you are aware of the concept of water flow, but a sink faucet flow is significantly less than a shower flow, which means less water comes from your faucet than your showerhead. And considering that rinsing a brush in a faucet takes a second or two, how much water is wasted?
Moreover, it would be a little easier to accept Aniston as someone who was 'green' if she didn't promote a product that wasted millions (billions?) of gallons of water, whereas her actions would save (if any) a miniscule fraction of that. I don't have to live with her to know that she probably takes a longer than 3 minute shower- for someone in the public eye everyday, I am guessing it takes longer than 3 minutes in the shower to look like that.
I am only 'slagging' her off because she is doing much more harm to the environment than good, and is being a hypocrite by lecturing people about the sparse water use of Africans. If you stopped worshipping at her altar you might realize that. Did you actually read the article above? Does her promotion of Smartwater not completely contradict her personal desire to conserve water? Can you see why that would be like bragging about how you drive a hybrid car while being a spokesman for Hummer?
