As for the "typical white" statement, let me put that into perspective. I live in the City where Obama made his now and forever famous speech on Tuesday. There are places in Philadelphia where, I as a African-American woman will not go alone. Parts of what we call the "Northeast", parts of South Philly and parts of Kensington. Why? Because if I was walking down a street alone in any of those places and I saw Caucasian men coming toward me, I would cross the street! Yes, its like that here. Am I a "typical black" living in Philadelphia, PA? You had better believe it! Are there parts of your City like that? I believe they exist all over this country. So, America, don't act as though Obama said something you don't understand. If you live in the USA, you understand exactly what he means.
