Anand Jon, the extraordinarily creepy Indian fashion designer who has been charged with dozens of counts of rape, sexual battery, forced oral copulation, and sexual exploitation of a child by dozens of women aged 14 to 23 in three states, still has two allies on his side: his sister and his lawyer.
"This demonisation is [happening] because he broke into an industry where Americans find difficult to break into," says sister Sanjana. His attorney concurs. "Anand's phenomenal success raised a few eyebrows ... they could not digest it." Not helping his case is the fact that the girls accusing him of rape hate brown people: "Racial discrimination could be a factor," his lawyer adds.
