The McCain campaign's branding of Sarah Palin as a fellow maverick is taking a bit of a pounding, particularly concerning the claim that Palin opposed the famed "Bridge to Nowhere," the pork-barrel extravaganza that became a symbol of what happens to fiscal responsibility when you allow Republicans to hold the levers of power for too long.
