I won't waste time discussing the ludicrous idea that every single donor is "vetted" by campaigns that raise hundreds of thousands of dollars a day.

Yes, because Clinton and Romney sit down each afternoon, and personally look over the thousands of internet donations they get each day, scrutinizing the lists for such household names as Joe Power. Clearly, a massive $5.00 donation would draw immediate attention.

You clearly don't have a clue about how campaigns work. Luckily for you, given the admission you've made of making donations under false pretenses, you can look forward to a nice visit from the FEC.

Shocked and amazed! How could our political representatives be so careless?!

Why, I would have thought, what with tens of thousands of $5 donations coming in online and being processed by automated software that automatically sends out a thank you letter and doesn't have to report to the FEC because the amount is so small (draws breath) that each candidate would employ a phalanx of workers to sit in cubicles and print out all the donations, then compare them with a phone book-like list of felons, ne'er-do-wells, unsavory folk and Oakland Raider fans, ready with their red pens o'denial to run screaming across the room at the slightest hint of icky.

"OH MY GOD! WE GOT A $5 PAYPAL DONATION FROM A GUY WITH OUTSTANDING PARKING TICKETS! SHUT IT DOWN! SHUT IT ALL DOWN NOW!!"

And hey, nice work using the name of a girl who was raped and murdered to help add a few giggles to your piece.

What, no mention of the Duke Lacrosse team? How about the guys who died in a coal mine a few weeks back - that'd be funny. Oh! Wait! You could Google the names of a few Green River Killer victims, or maybe some executed abortion doctors! Oh, the hilarity that would ensue!

What's worse than this bottom rung, mindless and stupidly conceived piece is that Radar's editors at no point decided to stop it in its tracks.

Does nobody there actually understand how automated payment processing software works? Does nobody get that impersonating individuals while making political contributions is a federal crime?
