Secret Society

Who's behind the anony-blog that has the social circuit scared silly?

PULLING RANK Writer Derek Blasberg swears it isn't him

With upcoming exposés in both Vanity Fair and New York magazine, the flap surrounding anonymous online society slam book SocialiteRank is about to get flappier. Finally, the mean girls and boys who've been terrorizing Manhattan's young and moneyed set with unsourced speculation about their sexuality, trust funds, and social cred will be yanked from the shadows and held accountable for their incessant bitchery! Or, more likely, not.

We handicapped the top 12 suspects along with some sexy wild cards. Help us rank the Rankers! The site launched last spring warning young socialites and wannabes, "Next time you think about skipping that certain gala, wearing that unknown designer, dating some weird band member, beware. We're watching. And your ranking is on the line!" calling itself, "The only society ranking list that matters." [continued below]

IT'S SO HER: Sure, she's something of a long-shot, but this mature, coffee-table book scribe/party-circuit staple with Nadine Johnson and Couri Hay on speed dial has got the the perfect cover. She's been gushingly profiled on the site, and even penned a Fashion Week diary for the Rankies. Who would suspect her of such adolescent antics? Us, for one.

OR … NOT: Would Zilkha really feel so threatened by a 20-year-old college student that she'd plan a Cruel Intentions-style takedown?

In the months since, it's regularly published damning rumors and outright lies, even while the prime suspects have repeatedly denied authorship.

Having been on the SR beat for quite some time now, we know it's a hard nut to crack. So, in the spirit of journalistic camaraderie, we've handicapped the top 12 suspects along with some sexy wild cards.

Of course, as a gossipy Radar reader, you probably know far better than us, so we'll leave it up to you to identify once and for all who the evil mastermind is behind this whole sad shebang.

So, won't you help us rank the Rankers? The results will be published next week with full analysis. In the meantime, feel free to send any additional leads, incriminating photographs, and libelous, unsupported accusations to tips@radaronline.com.
