As RadarOnline.com previously revealed, Whitney's finances were hitting rock bottom before her death.

"Whitney’s fortune is gone,” the source said at the time. “Music industry heavy hitters are supporting her and her label is fronting her cash against her next album, but no one knows when that will be released. She might be homeless if not for people saving her. She is broke as a joke. She called someone to ask for $100."

Houston had previously placed the 12,561 square foot estate up for sale at $2.5 million in 2009, and slashed the price to $1.97 million before taking it off the market at the end of 2011. The house features five bedrooms and four bathrooms, and is situated on more than five acres.

The house was featured in Bobby Brown's reality show in 2005, Being Bobby Brown. Houston and Brown were still married at the time.

The photos featured in the listing aren't representative of the house today. A chain link fence now surrounds the property, and the once magnificent estate appears to be badly neglected with overgrown weeds.

The funeral for Whitney Houston will take place on Saturday in Newark, New Jersey.

It's ugly, why would anyone want to live there?

She had no taste most likely due to her roots. She thought anything, even something tasteless and large, meant class. Maybe why she also chose Bobby B. for a husband. She had no taste. In anything. Homes or men.

I agree ups-4us...it made me feel like I was looking at a library not a home and the rooms are so huge with no sign of comfort or coziness

It says "former mansion", she doesn't own this home anymore and whoever does is probably in foreclosure. This is VERY misleading of ROL. She hasn't lived in NJ for years.

It says she took it off the market, just because she didn't live there, she could still own it.

It looks like a museum not a home.
