First lady Michelle Obama and the vice president's wife Jill Biden were booed appearing at the NASCAR Sprint Cup Finale at the Homestead-Miami Speedway on Sunday.
Just prior to their announcement of "Gentlemen start your engines," the South Florida crowd hailed the political wives with a chorus of jeers.
Both served as grand marshals for the event as part of their Joining Forces initiative, which aims to help and honor military troops and families.

The first lady said that one of her goals with Biden is to ensure helping military families and veterans remains a focal point of the American people, regardless of who is in office. At a pre-race reception, the first lady said that NASCAR has been "amazing in terms of its support, not just today but everyday, for military families."

This is a true embarassment for the US, that's why other countires now look at us and laugh. For those of you who claim to love America so much you should show the PRESIDENT and his family more RESPECT!!!

SAD to view the ignorance in this video. When Nascar fans aka haters were so intent on booing the 1st & 2nd Lady, they had NO regard & respect for the military family who felt the hate. I am a military spouse & I appreciate the 1st Lady's work.

Michelle lost my complete respect when she said that she was never proud to be an American until here husband was elected. Whether she felt that way or not, she never should have said it. So I do understand the sentiment at NASCAR.

Nascar fans' boos & jeers were insensitive & ignorant. There was a military family who did no wrong. NO ONE is acknowledging that this family ALSO felt the hate. Disgusting to watch disrespect of military families who sacrifice for your freedom!

Didn't Michelle Obama say she was never proud of America until Obama got elected. Maybe the fans in FL have been proud to be Americans ALL their lives.

I want someone to tell me where that quote is. I want to read it for myself before I will ever believe it. Then I will forward it to the White House for comment to make sure it is accurate b/c we know ROL is mostly bulls it.

Thank you, Bjan!!! It's hard to feel any warmth for a person who has no warmth for the very people in her own country. I feel that her only role as First Lady has been to take multiple vacations, at the taxpayer's expense.

Maybe you should ask all the military families she has helped. While your at it ask all the kids she has had over to her house for gardening, partying, reading and tours. How about all the money for the schools when she visits.

There was no place for them at a Nascar race and the people wanted to see someone they can relate to. Not two old women with more money than all Nascar fans combined.
