James Franco's Father Is Dead At 63

The father of Academy Award nominated actor James Franco died last week at 63-years-old, the family announced on Tuesday. The cause of death is not known at this time.
Doug Franco, who had a Harvard MBA and was a Silicon Valley Entrepreneur, was the father of James and his two brothers Dave and Tom.

"It is true that my sweet, generous husband passed away," Betsy Franco wrote on Twitter. "He gave so much to his three sons and me, and to many other people, too."
Betsy met James' father while the two were attending Stanford University together.

Doug and his wife were on hand at the Academy Awards this year, when James co-hosted with Anne Hathaway.
Franco has not yet commented.

James Franco needs to get his head out of his ass and be a man. Oscar night he was a tool. He was okay in Planet of the Apes but any actor could have played this role. He ain't all that which he thinks...
