Ryan O'Neal visited his son Redmond in his court ordered rehab facility, going against the written orders from Red’s doctor that he not have any contact with his father, RadarOnline.com is exclusively reporting.

Redmond, 26, was ordered back to rehab to undergo a one year treatment program on August 24 after his latest arrest for heroin possession.

The first day that Redmind arrived at the West Los Angeles facility, Ryan O'Neal decided to visit his son.  "Ryan was allowed to visit, against Redmond’s doctor’s orders, as it was thought the visit would be beneficial to Redmond," a source close to the situation told RadarOnline.com exclusively.

The source says that those close to Redmond have voiced concern regarding the type of facility he is in. "Rehab might not be the best fit for Redmond. Rehab is not jail, and there are concerns about the lack of security where he is now. It's not regimented and is run much more loosely than a prison would be. Redmond needs a very strict and secure environment, the last thing he needs is someone sneaking drugs into him," the insider says.

The source goes on to say that Redmond's inner circle "is extremely concerned for him. Redmond doesn't grasp that his addiction to heroin could kill him.”
