The Office star Rainn Wilson is not happy that Steve Carell did not win best actor in a comedy at the 63rd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards Sunday night in Los Angeles.

After the ceremony, Wilson  -- who plays quirky Dwight Schrute on the show -- tweeted: “The world of TV should be ashamed of itself that Steve Carell never won an Emmy for Michael Gary Scott. Goodnight.”

Only a few hours earlier, apparently right before the ceremony started, he tweeted this premonition: “The Office has about zero chance of winning this year because the cast has been relegated to rows U & V.”

As fans of The Office know all too well, Carell left the critically acclaimed show after last season to focus on his growing film career.

Carell, a six-time Emmy nominee for playing the hapless boss on The Office, downplayed his chances of winning when he spoke to MTV on the red carpet prior to the show.

"It would be a culmination of all my hopes and dreams," he laughed. "It would be great, but I'm putting my expectations on the fairly low side and just trying to enjoy it and see my friends. I haven't seen my friends from The Office in a while, so that's going to be fun."

(Big Bang Theory star Jim Parsons won the best actor prize for the second year in a row).
