Katy Perry is a record breaker: her Teenage Dream is the first album from the Billboard’s Pop Songs Charts to have five number one singles!

Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.) became the latest track to hit the top spot on the charts;  other number one hits from her album include California Gurls, (with Snoop Dogg), Firework and E.T.(with Kanye West) and the title track Teenage Dream.

Perry is now ahead of Lady Gaga (The Fame) and Justin Timberlake (Future Sex/Love Sounds) whose albums yielded four number one singles each.

As Perry achieves the first quintet of number ones from a single album on the Pop Song’s Chart, she’s also seeking to become the second artist to earn the honor on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart.

Should Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.) reach the Hot 100 summit on Sunday, Perry’s Teenage Dream would join Michael Jackson (Bad) as the only album in the Hot 100’s 53-year history to produce five number one’s on this chart also.
