Mel Gibson's 'The Beaver' Demolished At The Box Office

Mel Gibson's The Beaver had a painful opening at the box office this weekend.
With Jodie Foster directing and co-starring, the drama about a man suffering from depression barely produced a blip at the box office.

Despite generally favorable reviews, the obvious lack of interest on the part of movie-goers resulted in The Beaver being booked into only 22 theaters where it took in a total of just over $104,000.
During what turned out to be the final week of filming of The Beaver, RadarOnline.com exclusively published audio tapes of Gibson exploding over the phone at his then-girlfriend and mother of his baby, Oksana Grigorieva.

None of that changed Foster's opinion about her friend of 15 years. She calls him an "incredible man, a brilliant talent."

it is a different story then the other movies surrounding it and shouldn't be classified as a failure with only 22 theaters. I plan on going to see it. I challenge the people with depression and their families to see it as well.

..FOSTER DIDNT EVEN MENTIONED IT IN ANY OF HER INTERVIES.. THATS TOO BAD. BUT IT DOESNT CHANGE THE FACT THAT POEOPLE CAME OT SE IT EVNE FORM FARF AWAY WHICH MENA THA TMOVIE IS VERY SUCESSFUL.
