It’s Over For All My Children & One Life To Live

Two of TV’s longest-running daytime dramas -- All My Children and One Life To Live -- have been canceled, RadarOnline.com is reporting.
ABC made the announcement Thursday. Both shows will be replaced by lifestyle programs The Chew and The Revolution – the popular soaps will end in September 2010 and January 2011 respectively.

All My Children premiered on January 5, 1970 while One Life To Live first aired on July 15, 1968.
Disney ABC Television President Brian Frons said: “We are taking this bold step to expand our business because viewers are looking for different types of programming these days.

“They are telling us there is room for informative, authentic and fun shows that are relatable and offer a wide variety of opinions and focus on `real life' takeaways.''

I wish ROL would read what they write ".....the popular soaps will end in September 2010 and January 2011 respectively." Hey ROL, news flash...it's April 2011 and both soaps are still on.

I started watching All My Children while in college in the 1970s. I have been watching it on and off ever since. This is just so sad

THAT REALLY AWFUL HOW COULD THEY DO THIS, SOON AS THE REAL TODD COMES BACK YOU ARE GOING TO TAKE ONE LIFE TO LIVE OFF THE AIR. WE LOVE OUR SOAPS PLEASE PEOPLE PROTEST (SAVE OUR SOAPS) NO NEWS NO TALK SHOW LEAVE ALL MY CHILDREN AND ONE LIFE TO LIVE ON

Wow...say it's not so. I remember summer holidays 1971 and I began watching All My Children. Oh, the drama for a ten year old...Erica, Philip and Tara were the love triangle. Dr. Martin and Ruth, Aunt Pheobe, Nick, Mona...what a great group.

Say it ain't so!!!! I have watched these 2 shows exclusively since 1970. Does ABC really think they will get the same viewers back with any other shows? I think not! I for onEe an done.

NOOOOOOO! I've been watching since 1972...so sad. The rumor has been going around for awhile that there was a possibility it would happen. I hope Radar is wrong, but I doubt it.
