Brooke Mueller escaped all the madness around her estranged husband Charlie Sheen Saturday by getting together with one of her oldest friends, and RadarOnline.com has the pictures.

Brooke met up with Kevin Williamson, a close friend for lunch at the popular Cafe Med.

Williamson created and was the executive producer of Dawson's Creek and The Vampire Diaries. He's also written all the Scream movies.

As RadarOnline.com previously reported, Brooke has told friends her life "is a living hell," and she's been turning to close friends, including Kathy Hilton, to keep her spirits up.

"Brooke and Kevin has been friends for 10 years," a source tells us. "He's a very supportive pal."

good for brooke..she is connected , and involved with people who support her in being clean and being sober. glad she is fighting for her rights, and those of her twins. her life must be a living hell. she made a huge mistake re: sheen.
