The first big goof of the Super Bowl was not committed by the Green Bay Packers or Pittsburgh Steelers.
No, credit the first mistake to Christina Aguilera who botched the lyrics to the national anthem!

Sure the players were nervous as the success of an entire season came down to 60 minutes of football.
But Aguilera recently stated she’s been singing the national anthem since she was a little girl – so no one expected her to goof!

The singer’s mistake happened on the fourth line, which should have been: “O'er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming?”
Instead, Christina sang: “What so proudly we (garbled) at the twilight’s last gleaming.”

"I have been performing the anthem since I was seven years old and I must say the Super Bowl is a dream come true," Aguilera said before the big game.

Laughable. People like this have killed the music industry with their up and down and all around
flying around lyrics. It is beyond sickening. If I hear a singer starting to take off all around a lyric, I go to a deer in the headlights look.

That's what happens when she tries to make it "her" song.. She gets too crazy, goes far off the original tune and totally gets lost. Stay with the basics and give your pipes a rest.

She sucked big time and I agree why do they need to change up the tune. Sing it the way its supposed to be sung. I went on Youtube and was listening to others that sang it. The 7 year old girl can sing it better than Christina.

WRONG person to choose to sing it. She has become a "wild child". She dumped her husband & is running wild with a younger guy. She has a little boy but instead of behaving like a mommy, she is acting like a teen.

She looked great, but it wasn't her best singing performance. She was straining her high pitch vocals a bit.

X-tina is a Pittsburgh native but never should have been invited to sing the national anthem. Everything she
does sounds like a Burlesque tune. She denegrated it.
