Only a week after Nick Lachey popped the question to his longtime love Vanessa Minnillo, Jessica Simpson announced that she too will be heading to the alter with her beau of only five months, Eric Johnson. Jess made a promotional appearance in Kansas City on Saturday, proudly showing off her brand new (and unique!) bling. The question is--how does it stack up next to the whopping diamond bauble that her ex-husband purchased for his bride-to-be?

Nick finally popped the question to Vanessa after years of dating, getting down on his hands and knees with a 4-carat Asscher cut diamond ring, surrounded by trapezoidal baguettes. US Weekly is reporting that the ring was designed by Bader & Garrin, a diamond company out of New York, and that it is estimated to be worth $125,000.

NFL hunk Eric proposed to Jess with a three stone, ruby and diamond stunner from celebrity jeweler Neil Lane, which has been estimated to be worth anywhere between $100,000 to $200,000.

Vanessa's by far. Nick deserved every cent. He helped make her a star by being her foil on the newlyweds, we all saw how patient he was with that ditz. She insisted on no prenup...she got no prenup. He should have gotten more.

I'm sure it was Jessica's idea to get married and even bought her own ring! There's no way her fiance was able to afford a ring that expensive.

No need to compare unless. like Scarlett, you want ev1 to be pea green with envy. In that dept Jess' wins, no contest.. A nat., pigeon blood ruby that size is worth more than a diamond, regardless of tready cut. It is at the higher end of its est.
