Goodman explained of his cyclical weight gain: "I'd get off of 'Roseanne' every spring. I'd lose 60 lbs every spring. Then I got too fond of the barley corn and start missing it too much -- I'd gain it back and then some, every year."

"It's like night and day," the Roseanne star said. "I'm getting a lot of exercise, feeling great -- it's going to be an ongoing process for the rest of my life."
Goodman can currently be seen on HBO’s Treme; the show’s season finale airs Sunday at 10/9c.

John I am so happy for you. You must feel much better as a whole. When Roseanne went off TV, it was like losing my tv family. I just loved all of you.

yo-yo dieting is harder on the hard than just being fat. I hope he can sustain the loss. I always worry about people who yo yo. (Which we all do but those that do it to extremes. 60 pounds is a LOT)

You must be one hefty woman. The fact that he took the situation and got it under his control once and for all is something you probably need to do as well. I smell fat off of your jealous post. It's mean.

I think by saying "corn" and "barley" he was referring to beer. :) He was an alcoholic for years and just recently got sober...

Doesn't matter how he lost the weight. He is now more healthy and I hope he stays that way for his sake.

I love John and I'm happy that he has slimmed down. I'm also wondering if John is being truthful about his weight loss did he use a lap band perhaps? Hope he is not pulling a Star Jones.
