Rape Center Tells Kristen Stewart: 'Poor Choice of Words'

Rape crisis groups are not happy with Kristen Stewart's bizarre comment that being famous is almost like being "raped."
"What you don't see are the cameras shoved in my face and the bizarre intrusive questions being asked, or the people falling over themselves, screaming and taunting to get a reaction," the Twilight starlet told the latest issue of Britain's Elle Magazine.

"The photos are so ... I feel like I'm looking at someone being raped."
Not surprisingly, the analogy has drawn stiff criticism from rape support groups around the globe.
"Clearly that kind of violation is not the same as rape... it's just not the same," said Harriet Lessel, the executive director of the New York City Alliance Against Sexual Assault.

"I understand that Kristen Stewart was expressing that she feels violated.
"Sure violation is a form of sexual assault, but it's the most serious and the most personal. It's clearly a poor choice of words."
Stewart also used the interview to admit it is "annoying" when she is relentlessly asked if she and Twilight co-star Robert Pattinson are an item.

The 20-year-old said: "What I say is, that, why would I want anything that's private to become entertainment for other people? ... People say that if I just tell them everything I’ll be left alone, but God, you think if I tell people they’ll leave me alone? They pick up every little scrap, and that’s much worse."

She would be no place w/oTaylor and Rob #1. If she's so unhappy, get out of the business - that's the price to pay for that HUGE income you make due to your fan base you put down all the time.

If you choose a career that has you a public figure, where other young girls look up to you, then use the platform for good, realize the lives you can impact, then realize the lives you can taint too. Find a way to cope or change your profession.

Her choice to be so insensitive minimizes the hurt and pain that real rape victims have been traumatized with. It was a very poor choice of words. It hurts many victims learning to be survivors of such an awful life altering attack.

She was photographed flipping photographers off, which fans took to assume that she was flipping them off. If she is unhappy with the blessed opportunities she is given, then change your profession. You are choosing to react poorly, own it.

She is hounded by hundreds of paprazzi every day especially iwhen she is taking some me time to smoke a cigarette on her private hotel balcony. The paparazzi are vultures and she had every right to say and do what she did. Go Kristen.

I can't stand her sullen unfriendly unthankful face. I will NEVER go see anything with HER in it. How's THAT for leaving you alone Kristen?

She is not telling anyone to leave her alone she is merely saying please respect her privacy as she would yours and as far as her smiling goes she is self conscious about her teeth which is why she does not like to smile during photocalls.

This is worse than anything megan fox has ever said. Plus, she doesn't seem to appreciate her fanbase. Yeah, they are crazy but they are also the reason her cheesefest films make any money. where would she be without her twatligt fanbase.

If she hates the spot light, then the logical step would be to walk away. Her statements & antics are calculated to get attention.
