Spencer Pratt dropped into Malibu to visit his 'estranged' wife Heidi Montag this week, and in the process, accidentally blew the whistle on their sham separation, RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned.

A source tells RadarOnline.com that Spencer showed up Wednesday at Heidi’s million-dollar beachside hideaway, just days after their so-called split.

“Heidi and Spencer are obviously still on speaking terms,” dished a source to RadarOnline.com.

“I would be surprised if he isn’t even living at the house."

The fame-hungry couple “announced” last week that they were splitting.

“There are so many lies out there about me and I just needed space – even away from my husband,” Heidi said, in confirming the so-called split.

“I needed some alone time... I've always loved Spencer, but right now we're working on things.”
