Donald Trump spoke highly of Celebrity Apprentice hopeful Bret Michaels on Monday's edition of Lopez Tonight, but the world famous tycoon stopped short of saying if the Poison singer would be appearing on the show’s live finale this Sunday.

"He was really -- and I'm not saying it cause he's so sick, or he's been so sick -- he was really fantastic, he was really a star," Trump told George Lopez. "I didn't expect that much from Bret, I heard he's a rocker and all that stuff -- we all know the rockers -- and he turned out to be a really hard-working guy, smart as can be, everybody loved him."

As RadarOnline.com has previously reported, the Poison singer, suffering from a headache, was taken to a Phoenix, Arizona hospital April 22, where doctors discovered bleeding at the base of his brain stem. He was discharged after nearly two weeks in the hospital and told to rest for six weeks before getting back to work. His doctors said he is expected to fully recover.

"We're hoping he can be in the finals in some form, we're trying to get him on, and he really wants to be on, but we want, most importantly, we want him to stay healthy," Trump told Lopez.

This season's Celebrity Apprentice champion will be crowned in the show's live season finale, which airs on NBC Sunday , May 23 at 9/8c; Lopez Tonight airs weeknights on TBS at 11/10c.

Brett deserves to win, he and Holly both did an amazing job and are passionate about their charities and how autism and diabetes effects each of their own child. Holly's personality is overbearing though, I like how Brett stays so calm.
