Mike Tyson has landed many a punch, but perhaps the most brutal knockout blow he’s thrown might have been at his own pocketbook: the 43-year-old boxing legend told the ladies of The View Friday that he's penniless these days.

"I'm totally destitute and broke," Tyson, who earned more than than $300 million during his boxing career, said. "I had a lot of fun. It just happened."

It wasn't all gloom and doom for Iron Mike, however, as he revealed he's lined up a reality TV gig on Animal Planet to help pay the bills. The show will feature the ex-world champion in his Brooklyn, New York stomping grounds both raising and racing pigeons.

"I love all birds, but what I particularly like are roaming pigeons," Tyson said.

The interview was a reunion of sorts for Tyson and host Barbara Walters, who conducted a controversial interview with the boxer and his ex-wife Robin Givens in 1988 about their then- explosive marriage. Tyson, who sat motionless through most of the 1988 interview , said Friday on The View that he was in his “junkie” stage, and was likely sedated from medication at the time.

It's just like the Gosselins. They lived off their kids and church charity, made millions and cry poor when they blow it. I have much more empathy for Mike. At least he earned it himself and was very young so he had an excuse.

He went through more money than a thousand ppl would need for a life time. He needed to land on his ass, now he has to figure out a plan, and learn to live within his means.

Hellothere, most of those repairs can be made with minimal funds anyway. Buy a repair book and go to work. Maybe God's test for you is for him to show you your inner ability and to overcome obstacles in life, with whatever means available. Good LUCK!

Mike Tyson, I hope you read my post because God was really good to you man. If I can tell you my situation, you'll cry man. If you ever get another opportunity to make money again, don't blow it. We live day by day here.

$300 million and it's all gone. I know he split some with his promoter, kids, wives and what have you, but damn, I know he had at least $100 million to himself. If God ever give me even $5 million, I will make that last a life time.

I take that back. I ain't greedy. If God ever grant me $300,000 I'll make sure to it that all my kids go to college, and we can fix up our old, very old house. Some people don't realize how lucky they are.

Well, two of my kids are honor roll students, so they might get academic scholarships, but if God gives me $30,000. I can fix up my old house. Electrical work, holes in bath room floor etc..leaking roof..etc..
Some people are so lucky.
