This week’s 16 and Pregnant brought us Lizzie from Virginia, another pregnant teen facing the harsh challenges life brings with a new baby on the way.

"I love to party and have fun with my friends, that's how I met Skyler, he was so cute and I had to have him." said Lizzie of her boyfriend of eight months.

Lizzie was the perfect student, a member of her high school marching band, and a teen with a promising future when she discovered she was pregnant.

"I hope being pregnant won't get in the way of my dreams, because I've got a lot planned." Lizzie says with a sweet naiveté.

But Lizzie soon realizes she can't do it all and drops out of school and her high school band. Her father is having trouble facing thepregnancy.

"I would have thought that you knew better" he says about his daughter's lack of birth control.

Her friends are stunned that she didn't consider abortion or adoption because she'd always been so "smart, pretty and driven."

But Lizzie moves into her mother’s home with Skyler and prepares for the big day painting the nursery and building the crib while discussing her fear of being unable to afford a new baby.

Her friends stop by on the way to their Homecoming and show off their outfits; Lizzie reveals the dress she would have worn had she not gotten pregnant.

“Oh well? Stuff changes" Lizzie says flippantly, and then yells to her friends on the way out, "don't get pregnant!"

After missing Homecoming and then her local parade, Lizzie begins to realize she can't do it all.

Skyler asks Lizzie's father for her hand in marriage but he won't approve.

Lizzie is unfazed by her father and claims this was all meant to be,  "I knew we would still be together now because I wanted you, and I got you, and I always get what I want." and Skyler seems to agree.

He heads out for an engagement ring at the local thrift shop, takes Lizzie to dinner and drops to one knee with a proposal. And of course Lizzie says "yes".

"I have like the perfect boyfriend, the perfect ring, and the perfect family, and I'm excited about having the perfect baby." but her friends aren't as convinced.

The young couple begin to discuss their biggest fears

"I hope she's not like me very much in the bad ways, my mom didn't know anything I was doing; I hope I know what she's doing. I hope she's not dumb and does that stuff." Lizzie says of her upcoming bundle of joy.

At the finale of a rockin' baby shower her father presents Lizzie with her high school diploma that she earned 5 months early!

But the high doesn't last when she begins hearing rumors that Sklyer was unfaithful eight months earlier and they turn out to be true.

"I don't want that to ruin what we have together because I don't want to lose you." Skyler pleads but Lizzie returns his ring and sends him packing.

Lizzie refocuses her time on college plans but reality comes flooding back and she calls Sklyer when she realizes her baby needs both parents and she'd lost her best friend.

The couple is back together and just in time. Lizzie gave birth to a healthy baby girl they named Summer. It doesn't take long for Lizzie to realize her dreams of college and music are no longer possible.

"If I could go back to when it all happened, I definitely would have waited." says Lizzie about her life.

I'm sure at 16 she knew what a condom is. they were some horny teens & I bet she 'didnt think it would happen to her'.

Why aren't these kids scared of STD'S? or even AIDS? I bet that kid had unprotected sex with the other girl. I grew up in the AID era of the 80's and I was horrified of AIDS. So I waited and used protection! what gives with these kids?

Can't wait to see what she's going to do when she becomes a grama when she's in her early thirties, it's statistically probable.

WHAT THEY NEED IS TO STOP GLORIFING TEEN PREGNACY!!!!!!!STOP PUTTING THESE GIRLS ON T.V AND RADAR!!!!!!!LIFE IS NOT ABOUT REALITY T.V.

You're right KCK. All they are doing is glorifying teen pregnancy when in reality it's something horrible. I cringe when I think of the horrible life in front of those babies because these people are too selfish to give the child up for adoption.

What's really said is this country is NOT ABOUT INFORMING TEENAGERS HOW TO NOT GET PREGNANT!!! I find it absurd so many parents only teach abstinence. THEY NEED MORE INFO!!!

You're so right. "Abstinence only" is NOT birth control......it's extremely dangerous.
