The wife of a reality-TV pioneer was strangled hours before her husband reported the woman missing in Mexico.

O Globo newspaper in Rio is reporting Monica Beresford-Redman was killed between 11 and 11:59 p.m. on Monday in Cancun, according to the official coroner’s report.

Bruce Beresford-Redman -- a producer of the hit reality show "Survivor" and co-creator of "Pimp My Ride" -- told Mexican authorities the next day she was missing.

And guests at the hotel where the couple was staying have reported hearing noises from the couple’s hotel room as early as dawn on Monday.

Witnesses have told authorities they noticed screams from a female and furniture being thrown from the couple’s room.

They also report them fighting Sunday and Monday nights.

Bruce, 38, who reportedly had scratches on his neck when police questioned him, said he last saw his Brazilian-born wife Monday morning when she left alone to shop and get a massage.

The woman suffered blows to the head and her body was found in a sewer, about 80 yards from the couple's hotel.

Bruce has been released from police custody after being interrogated.

He has been ordered to stay in Mexico, as his parents proclaimed his innocence.

Tragic! Marriage is not easy - Fights happen but getting violent doesn't help - sometimes its an accident in a moment of passion - but confessing is a better option than dumping your loved one in a sewer -

Did any of these witnesses report it or only mention it after the fact? You hear someone screaming and furniture thrown and it's ignored??? Tragic and possibly preventable if someone had picked up a phone.

where were the children when all of this fighting was going on? anyone who takes the life of their spouse when there is children involved should never see daylight again. those poor kids.

That so sad for the family & her children..My thoughts & prayers are w/her children & family..How did whoever murder her was not seen taking her to the sewer?EWW.I'm wondering if anyone was helping the murder out?
