Jim Carrey And Jenny McCarthy Break Up

One of the funniest and solid-seeming couples in Hollywood have called it quits. On Tuesday, Jim Carrey and Jenny McCarthy confirmed that they have parted ways after five years together.

"Jenny and I have just ended our 5 yr relationship. I'm grateful 4 the many blessings we've shared and I wish her the very best! S'okay!" Carrey, 48, wrote on his Twitter.

McCarthy, 37, echoed the news on her own page about ten minutes after Carrey's post:

"I'm so grateful for the years Jim and I had together. I will stay committed to Jane [Jim's daughter] and will always keep Jim as a leading man in my heart."
A rep for the actress confirmed to RadarOnline.com that the split was amicable and mutual.
The two were living together and famously said they had no plans to marry since they did not need a "piece of paper" to cement their relationship. Carrey even adopted McCarthy's activism regarding autism, which her son Evan was diagnosed with in 2005. The two are both prominent spokespeople for Generation Rescue which advocates the view that autism and related disorders are primarily caused by environmental factors like vaccines.

It IS sad--does this mean Evan will have no contact with the man he probably felt was his Daddy? I think Jim Carrey is probably bipolar--and the downside, depression, is what led to this breakup. Poor kid. Carrey should try meds.

I really thought that they would last. Having a son with Autisim and I feel so bad for Even. Jim was a primary male in his life and it's devistating. It's sad for everyone involved.

sad...i liked them as a couple. in interviews they seemed so connected and like two peas in a pod. what happened??

i read somewhere that jenny is vacationing in hawaii with her son. i always thought she was too wild for jim-not the commiting type.

OH Lord NO WAY!! They were Hollywoods sweetest couple. On Larry King they seemed perfectly matched. Jim Carrey must be nuts. He has ended long term relationships before. What is wrong with him!

I liked this couple, but this just shows you how deceitful celebrities are, just saw an interview and she said they were very happily married. No biggie they split, but QUIT WITH ALL THE LYING PHONY B.S. SO SICK OF THAT CRAP. BE REAL, FAKE *SSES!!

i understand your anger but if someone, a stranger, asks you how is your marriage, are you going to tell them all about the impending break-up? i would think i may talk to family and a friend about it but not with stranger?aka the public?
