Oscar winning actress Mo’Nique is less than impressed with the way Oprah Winfrey’s interview with her molester brother Gerald Imes turned-out, RadarOnline.com has learned.

Although Winfrey asked Mo’Nique if it was okay if Imes appeared on her show the actress felt that he lied during the interview and it was not sympathetic enough towards her.

Winfrey - who also suffered sexual abuse – wanted to make sure that the Precious star fully understood what her estranged brother would say after he originally approached her to appear on the show.

On the show – which aired on Monday – Imes confirmed that the molestation continued for a year or two, starting when he was 13 and Mo’Nique was 7 or 8.

A source close to Mo’Nique told RadarOnline.com: “Gerald actually made the first move and called Oprah asking her if he could appear on the show.

“So, Oprah called Mo’Nique to see if she was okay about him appearing on her show to discuss the abuse and although she was not entirely happy about it she gave Oprah her blessing.”

Imes said he decided to appear on Winfrey’s show to apologize to Mo’Nique and bring their family back together. Imes said he himself was molested and he was using drugs and alcohol at age 11.

He said: “I abused and betrayed the trust of another sibling, my sister, my blood sister, I’m sorry, Mo’Nique. I’m sorry.”

“Hopefully somewhere, somehow as siblings we can come back together as brother and sister.”

However, RadarOnline.com has learned that Mo’Nique is less than happy with how Oprah’s interview turned out and her relationship with both her brother and her parents, who also appeared on the episode, is now worse than ever.

The source added: “Oprah and Mo’Nique were never the best of friends... Mo’Nique was less than impressed with how the interview played out as she felt that her brother lied and that it was not sympathetic enough towards her.

“She was particularly upset that Gerald lied to Oprah that he molested her while she was sleeping because she was wide awake and scared of him.

“Also, she is angry that he did not get any help or enter a rehab and she does not trust him around children.

“Oprah asked her to appear on her show again for another interview but at this point she has declined the invitation.

“If anything it has made the situation worse between Mo’Nique and her family and she doesn’t know if she will ever speak to them again now.”

Mo’Nique received the supporting actress Academy Award in March for her role in Precious: Based on the Novel Push by Sapphire.

A rep for the actress did not return requests for comment.

He should have asked Oprah for some child support money for his 2 children that the state had to take him to court for child support since his wife is on welfare.

H'es been in and out of jail. Now, I understand why Monique brought her mom a big house and didnt give him xxxxx@xxxxx.com cause he's a molester Monique has been estranged from him since, at a minimum, 1998. he contacted Oprah and not the other way around.

for those that say their are 2 sides to the story, Gerald pled guilty to sexual abuse charges. Monique didn't get charged for filing a false police report. I I use to work with Gerald and he use to beat the crap out of his g/f Sharon

It's interesting how two individuals raised in the same houselhold can have two entirely different recollections of events of the past. She shouldn't be mad at anyone but herself for allowing him to tell his story unopposed.

I don't blame Oprah for this interview. It is her job. Monique's brother is a creep. Arrested later for child molestation. Wouldn't let him near my kids and probably wouldn't speak to him either.

Oprah did was a journalist does. She asked Mo Nique. If it was going to be a sore spot she should have said no. This is a serious issue and not one to be taken lightly. I feel for Mo Nique. It is not going to be easy thats for sure.

The whole family is sick and I don't blame her for not speaking to them. The other brother was laughing and basically called Mo a liar. Oprah should have never allowed him on, not necessary at all.

I suspect that the movie precious brought all this back to her. I don't think you get over being molested. I don't know what the brothers motivation was. Creepy. I suspect more going on in family than this.

Oprah called Monique and asked if she should do the interview. Monique should have said hell no. She didn't. Monique put the molestation out there first in an interview. If she didn't want to talk about it she should have said no.
