Brittany Murphy’s husband Simon Monjack has been the target of many media slams and criticism from the public since the shocking death of his wife on December 20, 2009, particularly allegations that he used Brittany for her money. RadarOnline.com sat down exclusively with Monjack to set the record straight.

“I think the biggest misconception is that I somehow lived off my wife,” Monjack said. “I paid the bills around here. I’m quite good with math so I started trading currency derivatives. You either lose everything or you make vast amounts of money. In my case I’ve made vast amounts of money.”

Monjack explained to RadarOnline.com that his grandfather owned a steel company in England that later became British Steel, and he started teaching Monjack the ins-and-outs of currency trading at a very young age.

“When I was much younger there was a young artist coming up called Damien Hirst. I kept some of his canvases you could buy for 500 or 600 pounds a canvas, so I bought 100 or 150 of them,” Monjack shared with RadarOnline.com about his love of art. “Today those same canvases start at $2 million each. I’ve been busy either losing money on the stock market or selling art ever since.
“Brittany married me for a visa. Do you really think she needed the five grand that badly?” Monjack said addressing the rumor that he married Brittany so he wouldn’t be deported. “If we’re going to have stories let’s have real stories! Like, she married me because I’m so hairy. But for a visa? No."

“My relationship with Sharon is probably one of the most beautiful relationships I’ve ever had with another human being,” Monjack said of his strictly platonic relationship with Brittany’s mother. “She was the love of Brittany’s life way before I was.”

What I don't understand is why didn't he try to help her with her drug and other problems when she was alive and needed him.I see him now on these talk shows acting like a complete non caring AH.

Exactly, why did he help with the alias names to get her, her scripts? Something with him seems off, this is not grieving behavior, like how most would be grieving, they'd not make jokes of her death. The love child comment, disrespectful!
