Redmond O’Neal is as baffled as everyone else on why his mom,  Farrah Fawcett, was missed out of the “In Memoriam” segment that ran during this year’s Academy Awards. In an exclusive statement through his attorney Richard Pintal, Redmond tells RadarOnline.com, “It’s pretty unexplainable. She would be baffled. But I am not surprised. It is happening again. My mom should have gotten an Emmy for The Burning Bed, now this.”

It was a shocking omission, Lesley Unger a rep for the Academy, explained to RadarOnline.com that "there are many angles that are looked at as to who to include and unfortunately we don't include everyone."

Redmond’s father, Ryan O’Neal plans to write a letter of protest to the Academy, and told RadarOnline.com, “It was a terrible decision and very hurtful. Farrah was a member of the Academy for over 40 years and we could not believe she did not get a mention."

Meantime, Farrah will forever live on in her son’s memory, and Redmond’s attorney shares that even though she is gone she is still helping her son through his difficult recovery from years of substance abuse. “Redmond misses his mother terribly,” Pintal tells RadarOnline.com. “But as he has said before, he is motivated by his mother, their love, their very close relationship and deep bond, to move forward in his life in a healthy manner.”

I just can't believe Redmond about staying clean for his mom. He got a4 hour pass and could not even say "NO" for 24 hours.

A****, that's sad and she should have been included! I hope it was an accident! BTW, does anyone know what happened to her nose? It seemed like it caved in!

this is a dangerously toxic family and I feel sorry for anyone who gets near them. nothing good can come of it, just look at their lives.

At this point, a memorial tribute would be for them and not her. We don't need a picture on a screen to remind us. If they feel so strongly, create their own memorial tribute and donate any money from it to Farrahs fav charity (which is not Ryan).

Well said JRPG. Farrah would have cared less. Redmond need to stop lamenting on things that don't pertain to him and focus on his recovery.

HA! I as thinking the same thing both earlier posts think (before I read them). She probably could give a crap about the stupid memoriam...just that her son cleans up his act.

I totally agree. Your Mom could care less about The Oscars, she'd be more thrilled by her son being drug free and a happy life. That's the best way to honor Farrah

If Redmond wants a tribute to his beautiful, caring mom, tell him to stay sober. That's the ONLY thing she really wanted.
