Courtenay Semel is still grieving over the death of her ex-girlfriend Casey Johnson -- but her friends are urging her to go back to dating men, RadarOnline.com has learned exclusively

A recent report claimed the socialite was seen making out with pal Alex Quinn on Sunday at LA’s Crown Bar. Quinn briefly dated Semel in 2005 on the E! reality show Filthy Rich: Cattle Drive.

RadarOnline.com spoke to a very close friend of Semel's who told us exclusively that Semel was making out with Quinn but it "just a joke."
"It was a joke between them!" Courtenay’s friend said. "All of Courtenay's friends are trying to convince her to go back to men, but she doesn’t know if she’ll ever be able to date anyone after losing Casey."

So for now instead of choosing between men and women, Semel has chosen to be alone.
Semel and Johnson dated and had an intense relationship prior to Johnson hooking up with Tila Tequila. Tila announced that she was engaged to Johnson shortly after.

In early January, Johnson was found dead in her LA home. The coroner determined she died from complications related to diabetes.
