EXCLUSIVE: Brittany Murphy's Husband Cancels Event "For Medical Reasons"

On Tuesday, Simon Monjack abruptly cancelled the launch party for the Brittany Murphy Foundation hours after news of the memorial event hit the press. RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned why Monjack pulled the plug.

"He told us he was canceling for medical reasons," an official at the Saban Theatre in Beverly Hills, where they event was scheduled to occur on February 4, told RadarOnline.com.
RadarOnline.com investigated the matter further and learned the event was hardly even planned though a formal invite was sent out on behalf of Murphy's mother Sharon and Monjack.

The official, who wished to remain anonymous, told RadarOnline.com that Monjack approached them early last week to hold the venue. However, he did not offer any other details beyond that.
"He didn't tell us anything," the official said. "We had no idea that he was charging people $1,000 to go. We thought it was just going to be a memorial."

The event, which mandated guests arrive in cocktail attire, had a suggested donation of $1,000 per individual and $10,000 per corporation to attend. When asked how many people had bought tickets, the official said "it never even got that far."
The venue is upset at being thrust into the media despite their limited involvement and knowledge of the event.

"We're p---ed because we don't want our venue to look bad. I don't know Simon and I don't think I want to know him. He seems like a pretty shady guy." A rep for Monjack had no comment.

There are reports of her having had eating disorders, has anyone noticed her pointer finger? I hope that the reports come out telling the truth and that she can finally rest in peace.

If it was done with good intentions, it surely backfired. It's WAY too early for doing this stuff. Wait a year to at least figure out how to run a foundation at least! The girl died about 6 weeks ago!

Mom is in on it because it's NOT what RADAR and other media outlets portray it to be. It's not shady or somehow greedy. Get it? That's why she's involved. We don't know any real facts here.

We all have no idea if any of these things we see in print is real and true. NONE. Yet everybody jumps on the bus that is destined to run this man over. It's a sick attempt to create something whether true or not.

That last paragraph just gave Simon a cause of action against this place. I've just never seen so many who want to hurt Brittany's husband. Never. Nothing there? They will make it up and slant it to make him look bad.

This shady, ugly man will end up being a footnote in the life story of Brittany Murphy. All he can do now for $ is to try to trade on his dead wife's name, since she left her mother everything.
