Rush Limbaugh was released from a Honolulu hospital Friday saying that tests had found nothing wrong with his heart.

"It was a blessing," Rush said of the heart attack scare.

"The pain was real, and they don't know what caused it," Rush added.

The conservative radio host also said painkillers were not a factor in the chest pains that caused the hospitalization.

He is expected to return to work Wednesday.

In October, Limbaugh was dropped from a group of investors hoping to buy the St. Louis Rams. His opinions are often polarizing and the NFL Players Union had expressed its objections to Limbaugh becoming a team owner.

You dummy wummies prednisone is a steroid (not like what athletes take to bulk up). Its an anti inflammatory used for autoimmune diseases, asthma...many, many different reasons it could be prescribed. Nothing to get high off of

I would love to know how some one could get addicted to prednisone. It's a good med for bronchial issues and allergies or joints to get swelling down but it does not have properties to get you high or addicted.

Excerpt of his note to his listeners-I'm going to take several days of rest over this weekend and the early part of next week, and will be back on the radio with you sometime next week, taking the advice of so many of you to rest and fully recover.

Happy to know Rush is doing well. I saw his press conference on his site. He answered the only question posed at the end-"Are you taking painkillers?" Rush answered, No, prednisone." (for his herniated disc in his neck.)

You might clarify that prednisone is not a narcotic. Those w/o an ounce of compassion could go bonkers.

No, it's not a narcotic. My husband is very asthmatic and was diagnosed as prednisone dependent about 1983. It's a good medication, can be tough on the body but if he didn't take it he wouldn't be alive.

Too, it is a 'dependency drug', but just like beta blockers etc. The body becomes reliant on the good it does...& needs careful weaning when the need has run it's course. Been there, done that!

It's one of those miracle drugs Lucy. Did wonders for my joints...and gave our family pet another great year as well. Rough on the kidneys...but hey, science can be one a wonderful thing..even when the loo is all too familiar ;0) !!!
