The telethon, pulled together in an mind blowing short period of time by George Clooney, broadcast top class performances and celebrity appeals for
donations live from Los Angeles, New York and London. It was broadcast to a reported 640 million homes worldwide.
In what must of been a logistical and scheduling nightmare, George managed to rally just about every name worth knowing in the world's Entertainment
Industry to man the phones on the donation lines. With top flight stars like Nicole Kidman, Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, Jennifer Aniston, Cameron Diaz, Colin Farrell and Julia Roberts, it was more a case of who wasn't involved than who was.
Though the show is over, it's not too late, you can still make your donation to Hope For Haiti, visit their website for details.
In addition, all the live performances from Friday's show are available for download on the itunes website with a share of the proceeds going to a number of top charities that are active in the Haiti rescue effort.
With amazing and moving performances to chose from by Madonna, Justin Timberlake, Coldplay, Rihanna, Jay-Z and Bono, Mary J. Blige and Jennifer Hudson amongst many others, giving to charity has never sounded so good!

I thought it was GREAT! I donated 2nd day of quake to Pres Clinton's Foundation, then to the telethon. BRUCE et al, Bono RiRi & Jay-Z's STRANDED - GREAT. Downloaded it all on iTunes too.

It wasa tasteful, somber, beautiful effort. I am sorry but many of these victims were homeless before disaster struck.

The American govt. occupation in the early 20th century had the aim of turning haiti into a sweatshop, the US supported the brutal Duvalier's who stole from the people & killed tens of thousands. So nice the global community is now supportive!

Ok I think this is great but I do wish they would put that much enthusiasim into helping
out here with the homeless and hungry. Surely they have enough money and star power.

Wow, quite amazing. I really respect Clooney for pulling off such a great charity event. All you read about is how Clooney dates hot chick after hot chick, but when it really matters, he truly does care! Bravo George!

AMAZING!!! Yay, and that is not counting the music sales yet, I read that the artist's songs are all going on an album for sale with proceeds to Haiti as well and itunes is selling the individual songs with proceeds to Haiti.

...up among the various charities involved with the telethon, which inherently would take some time). I donated to hopeforhaiti.com, and you may want to as well, or through the telethon's website of hopeforhaitinow.org
