As if rounding up the world’s biggest stars for a telethon wasn’t enough, George Clooney is donating $1 million to Friday’s “Hope for Haiti Now: A Global Benefit for Earthquake Relief.”
Gisele Bündchen Pledges $1.5 Mil Toward Haitian Quake Relief
The actor joins a growing illustrious list of celebrities who have plunked down seven-figure sums to help earthquake victims.

Sandra Bullock donated $1 million and Gisele Bundchen gave $1.5 million to other relief efforts. Leonardo DiCaprio donated $1 million to the Clinton Bush Haiti fund.
The two-hour telethon will air on ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, CNN, BET, The CW, HBO, MTV, VH1, and CMT on Friday, January 22, 2010 at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT and 7:00 p.m. CT.

This just reminds me that no good deed goes unpunished. They're will always be people who have something negative to say about someone doing good work. Get a life people you sound very unhappy with yourself.

This is UNBELIEVABLE. This man is doing something. Who care who reports it. Maybe in hollywood when someone gives a large amount it is a prod to have other celebrities do the same. The winners are the people of Haiti.

Texas...I agree w. you on this one. Those who make a difference do so with humility and not with a shout out. It's easy to write a check when you're worth millions...but think of those who give of themselves...military comes to mind!

I hope he does more. One million to him is nothing. They went everyday Americans who pay their salaries through going to movies to give proportionately a greater amount then they do. Shame on him.

Come on what a terrible thing to say..you fork over some of your own money then...Good for them giving a whole million...some people are never satisfied are they...you should be ashamed of yourself.

Texas that's exactly what I was wondering! Sure it's great they give but what was his salary for Up in the Air? He could rebuild Haiti.

He only did that because of the backlash he was getting . Even Rosie O'donnel said the stars should have to donate before asking others for money on a telethon.

He didn't have to do a single thing but he did so quit criticizing.
