Report: Bernie Madoff Beaten In Prison

There must be some angry investors behind bars.
Bernie Madoff, the financier who stole billions of dollars from individuals and charities, got a dose of karma behind bars and was beaten so severely he suffered facial fractures, broken ribs and a collapsed lung, according to ABC 11 in Durham, N.C.

Madoff was rushed to Duke University Medical Center in Durham last Friday and released two days later.

But according to the Madoff's lawyer, Ira Sorkin, there was no assault. The Associated Press report that Sorking said his client "had some dizzy spells and some high blood pressure."

Either way, The 71-year old fraudster, who was imprisoned last March, is now in a medical clinic at the prison in Butner, NC, where he is serving a 150 year sentence for his part in a $65 billion Ponzi scheme.

The cost to the prison to send someone to a hospital for just dizziness and HBP is enormous, so they only send them for medical problems that they can not take care of themselves, that is why I believe it is more serious then they are saying.

As a retired RN who worked at a hospital the took care of prisoners from one of the SHU's in California, Madoff was not sent for just dizziness and high blood pressure, those problems can be handled at the prison. He was beaten.

I wondered why he had been moved to the hospital wing at the prison. Took a week, seems like, for this news to get out.

The FEDERAL BUREAU OF PRISONS has just announced that Madoff was not assaulted. They are treating him from dizziness and high blood pressure- which he's had for some time.

This story is FALSE. Larger more legitimate news sources are saying the was NOT BEATEN as some other sources are claiming but is ill. Again, something is distorted and being sensationalized here.
