Palace Denies Prince William Being Groomed As 'Shadow King'

Is Prince William being groomed as a so-called 'Shadow King?' -- meaning he's being given many of the Queen's official duties instead of them going to his father, Prince Charles?
Buckingham Palace is denying those reports coming out of UK's The Daily Mail on Sunday.
The Daily Mail claims Queen Elizabeth, 83, wants to prepare her grandson for the day he becomes King.
It says secret financial documents prove more money is to be spent on William, the 27-year-old heir to the throne.
It said the revelations were made in a secret briefing note written by Chancellor Alistair Darling's Treasury officials about new financial arrangements for Prince Charles and his two sons.
Key paragraphs, disclosing the reason for the changes, were blacked out, the Daily Mail reported.
But the newspaper said it had obtained an uncensored version of the document which confirms that the Queen is grooming William as a 'Shadow King' in order to ease the strain on the aging Queen and on her 88-year-old husband Prince Philip.
But, a spokesman for the Royal Family said there were no plans for Prince William to take over for Queen Elizabeth.
In denying the report, the Palace also stressed the Queen had not cut back on her duties.

Lady Diana was treated horribly by Charles, that's true... She would be so proud of her boys. And BlanketFan, I remember when he was born. How time flies! Prince William is the best man for the job!

Actually the article from the Daily Mail said that duties were going to passed down to Charles and William.
They can't just skip over Charles, but he may be in his 60s by the time he becomes King so they should get William to take some of the load.

I think Charles will be passed over and he should. He was unfaithful to Diana even before they got married and Charles knew at the time there would be no way he could marry a divorced lady and have a son by her become King.

Charles should have tried to make his marriage work and maybe this wouldn't be happening. Diana never wanted the divorce.

I hope William makes a good choice of wife. I am not certain Kate Middleton is appropriate.

Diana was VERY familiar with protocol and had more British royal blood in her veins than the royal family. She acted out because CHARLES started cheating on her from the near get go. Who would take that.

If the two are really in love, then they should be allowed to get married. That is what caused the problem with Diana and Charles, he was still in love with Camillagate and was forced to marry Diana. Kate is learning right now the protocol.

Charles was NEVER forced to marry Diana. He did think she would be malleable. He also NEVER proposed to Camilla, he was wishy washy with her and while he was away Camilla upped and married Andrew Parker Bowles.
