Kate Gosselin is resuming her TV career and filmed a test segment for her new show on Tuesday.

The Jon & Kate Plus 8 star played waitress at a 65-year-old Finch's diner in Raleigh, North Carolina and served pancakes and grits to customers.

Cameras rolled while Kate took orders and served - but only TLC cameras were allowed to film. A local TV reporter was escorted out by Kate's constant companion, bodyguard Steve Neild.

RadarOnline.com has learned exclusively that Kate's show is still in development and the shooting was part of the process. With eight kids at home, we're sure Kate didn't find it too difficult running around serving others!

Meanwhile, her soon-to-be-ex-husband Jon is getting ready for his own road trip. He'll be traveling to Maryland where he'll appear in court on Thursday as TLC seeks a preliminary injunction against him as part of the network's breach of contract suit.

Clearly y'all didn't understand my point; regardless of WHO the celeb/reality star is, we don't like having our town invaded & us being told what we can and cannot do, have our property trespassed on, be treated rudely. That isn't welcome in NC.

Jon has totally ruined his life by cheating on Kate and ending the marriage. He squandered the money and blew all this chances for fame and fortune. He has no morals & lives his life everyday by lying.

Jon did NOT end the marriage. Kate did. Jon DIDNOT cheat on Kate. Jon only dated after the legal separation. Kate was doing the body guard long before that. Kate4 cheated and ended the marriage.
