Casey Anthony Case Turned Into Bizarre Play

Oscar-winning director Steven Soderbergh has taken the Casey Anthony case and turned it into a play that opened Friday in Australia.

Soderbergh, one of Hollywood's true heavyweights, directed Traffic, Oceans 11, 12 and 13, and Matt Damon's recent The Informant! He became fascinated by the story of murdered toddler Caylee Marie Anthony and the subsequent arrest of her mother for the brutal crime.

Essie Davis, who appeared in all the Matrix films and the Nicole Kidman bomb, Australia, stars as the accused murdering mom.
Soderbergh used court documents, police and news reports, and excerpts from the Nancy Grace Show as source material. He titled it Tot Mom, after a phrase often used by Grace.

Anthony faces the death penalty on a first degree murder charge. Her trial is set to begin early next year.

I agree with the other posters. Zanny the Nanny did not exist, Casey's parents are in total denial and are totally to blame for the way they raised their daughter. Too bad, they are going to lose Casey as well.

I wouldn't blame the parents on this, Casey is a adult who did not want to be a parent. She did not have the mother instincts that most of us have. Casey is the one to blame on this whole thing and I hope she receives life and then some.

One crazy family. She's so guilty and her parents know it and are covering something ...that baby was so darling..how could her mom or grandparents be involved is unbelievable but true. Mom is a psycho and her parents are just as bad.

Based on the evidence I 've seen so far I would vote guilty on 1st. degree murder with the death penalty. Her lawyer is almost as bad as Jon's. Hope we don't have another OJ.Her parents just forgot all about their granddaughter. Pathetic!

This is freakin sick. A child died at the hands of her mother and he wants to make a play/movie about it? He's as sick as Casey Anthony.
