VIDEO: Bryant Gumbel On Lung Cancer Scare - "I'm Not Shovel-Ready Just Yet"

After Bryant Gumbel, guest hosting Live with Regis and Kelly Tuesday, said he underwent cancer surgery two months ago to remove a malignant tumor on his lung, reporters caught up with the host of HBO's Real Sports on the streets of New York to follow-up on the bombshell revelation.
"I feel OK, I feel OK -- I've felt better to be honest," Gumbel said. “Not as strong as I'd like to be ... but I feel OK."
A smiling Gumbel kept an optimistic front throughout the street interview.
"I'm grateful if anyone's concerned, I really am," Bryant said. "I think I'm gonna be fine ... I'm not shovel-ready just yet."
Gumbel, on the talk show, said he kept the surgery private, and that part of his lung was removed in the surgery. He and his doctor hope that his treatment is completed.
"We had told a few people, we told my family, obviously," Gumbel said. "I even kept it from my staff at Real Sports. So I'm okay for the time being."
Gumbel said that he is seeing his surgeon next week.
"I'm hoping they green light me to play golf again," he said.

I hope no one has to deal with Cancer, but anyone who does should be able to deal with it in their on way, without being judged

Nothing will humble a person more than losing your health. Learn a lesson, Bryant and show good taste and manners with others. Prayers in your battle against cancer, best of luck, stay strong.

He made Kelly feel like crap, revealing this on Regis and Kelly. Micheal knew, Regis knew, but no one told her.

i'm sorry he's sick but i agree mrtree, he has always come across as being very arrogant. if he wanted his surgery to be private then why tell? keep it private.
