The Vision Of Love singer, when asked if she was ever abused, told the talk show host, "Abuse has several categories."
When King asked her how she got out of the abusive situation, Carey responded: "Well, it's scary. If someone -- I mean, there's other things and other times in my life and things that I will eventually talk about when I write my book ... for me, to really get out, it was difficult, because there was a connection that was not only a marriage, but a business thing, where the person was in control of my life.”

Carey appears in the film Precious, which hits theaters Friday.

Anyone that has reached the ripe old age of 40 has certainly been emotionally or mentally abused! NO one has a perfect life!

it's a tax write off for celebs to hire nannies for their kids .. so a lot (& I mean a LOT!) of them adopt 1 or more, hire a nanny or two and POOF! there is a write off! ... It is a business decision!

I admire her for that....but you're right....clock is ticking.

Mariah Carey at 39 your time is really limited to have kids, I do however respect the fact that she does not want to hand her kids over to a nanny! I always wonder how a parent can do that just hand the kids over to a virtual stranger.

Have a fertility doc impregnate her with six kids - if that can create careers where there should be none, imagine what it would do for hers!
