You’ll see a different side of Jon Gosselin on Monday night’s episode of Jon & Kate Plus 8, and it’s not going to get him nominated for Father of the Year.

In this preview clip Jon is shown ignoring his kids, while texting, talking on the phone and doing what has come to be known as “working the fence.”

Monday night’s show definitely puts the reality in reality TV as Kate comments on Jon’s lack of interaction with the kids, and makes it clear it’s not a one-time thing.

After one clip of Jon blatantly ignoring one of his daughters, Kate says about her soon-to-be-ex: “He is on the phone a lot. I will come home and I’ll say, ‘Did daddy play with you?”

The kids answer her, “no.’ and when she asks them what was Jon doing they respond: “He was on the phone.”

Kate explains that she strongly believes Jon’s calls are personal and she limits her calls around the kids to work only.

Jon is also show “working the fence” which is when he goes over to talk to photographers and visitors at the fence on his property, often conducting impromptu sessions with the media.

Monday night’s show is the next to last of Jon & Kate Plus 8, but still breaks new ground in its depiction of Jon.

Jon & Kate Plus 8 airs Monday night at 9/8c on TLC.

You can describe Kate Gosselin with one word -- demanding, hostile, exploitative, short attention span, irritable, hedonistic and grandiose -- or you can describe her with many -- bipolar.

I guess Kate doesn't get her nails done, hair highlighted, or entertain guests unless she "has to", either. She is so full of garbage.

can't count how many times I've seen Kate with her kids and she has her cell phone tied to her ear. Have you heard of parental alienation? Sure hope the judge has been paying attention and gives Jon sole custody!

There is something wrong when the kids are trying to parent their father who is ignoring them and his responsibilities. This shows why Kate was concerned about leaving Jon with the kids and why she showed up the day the cops were called.

OMG...Kate... The Kids don't know WHO you are on the phone with. Being on the phone IS being on the phone. YOU ARE JUST AS GUILTY. "Important" call or not!!!

How obvious can TLC be????? Kate you're on the phone about work life because in reality you don't have any other life! And definiely NO friends to talk to. Jon IS being a douche, true. But TLC is over the top.

Working the fence? What a ridiculous way to spend his time when Jon is supposed to be with the kids.
Is Jon's ego that fragile that he needs people to compliment him or Jon's greed so desperate?
