The stars came out for an awards show Saturday night but for once they weren't paying tribute to each other. The event was the annual CNN Heroes Awards honoring ordinary people who make extraordinary efforts to make the world a better place.

We still hope that Carrie Underwood will save her hometown movie theater. I don't know her personally, but I know that she is a wonderful person.

Average people doing extraordinary things. Politicians are a waste & don't hold a candle to these winners as well as all the nominees.
