EXCLUSIVE VIDEO INTERVIEW: Smokin’ Mad Waiter Says ‘Kevin Spacey Got Me Fired!’

"Mr. Spacey, you got me fired from my job!" In an exclusive interview with RadarOnline.com, waiter Peter Turner said that's what happened when he told Kevin Spacey he wasn't allowed to smoke in a restaurant.
"You're an aggressive prick," Turner said the Oscar winning actor Kevin Spacey told him after he asked him to stop smoking three times in the high-end restaurant Clarke Cooke House in Newport, Rhode Island in late June. When Spacey's dinner companions lit up their cigarettes Turner was instructed by his boss to tell the group to stop smoking, since it was a violation of state law. In an exclusive interview with RadarOnline.com Peter revealed that it was this direction that got him fired. He said he made a joke to the smokers, saying: "You're not allowed to smoke in here unless you're on fire," but the actor's anger exploded. "I need you to get the f*** away from my table," Spacey snarled to the waiter.

In another incident later the same evening, Turner said a couple asked Kevin Spacey if he would pose for a picture with them and he said no, "I don't do pictures."

Turner told his boss about the incident and was told "If the owner knew you pissed off Kevin Spacey, he'd have me fire you." Three days later Peter Turner was "laid-off" from his job, but a replacement was hired for his position.

The lay off has been a huge financial strain for Turner who is working part-time as a caterer. "I was banking on making somewhere between $12 and $18,000," he said of the job at the restaurant.
Turner had harsh words for the Usual Suspects star who was the reason he was fired. "You called me an aggressive prick? I could say the same of you."

The waiter should have been fired. What a petty thing to get in someone's face about and cause a scene. If you publicly embarrass a celebrity or someone in power without good cause, you're going to pay the price. Welcome to life.

I'm not surprised to hear this. I stopped following Spacey on twitter because some of his responses to other twitterers was totally and unnecessarily pricktastic. Very superior attitude. Disappointing.

it seems to me that he really is an aggressive prick:
he was not asked to MAKE the customer stop smoking.
it's not the waiter's job to ENFORCE the state law.
just to notify the customer.

Under the law, it is the restaurant that gets fined for violations, so it actually IS the waiter's job to stop people from smoking.

He has a HUGE case here. He not only can sue the restaurant who fired him he can sue Spacey as well. What a mess.
