Simon Cowell Throws Himself A $1.6 Million Birthday Bash
Posted on Oct 03, 2009 @ 09:20AM

You only turn 50 once is what Simon Cowell seems to be saying. He's celebrating Saturday night with 400 of his closest friends at a party reportedly costing $1.6 million!
The event is happening at Wrotham Park, a Palladian mansion outside of London where a giant tent (and a separate one for smokers like the birthday boy) was erected days earlier.
Simon's American Idol pals Randy Jackson and Ryan Seacrest flew into London earlier in the week and were out clubbing Friday night.
Paula Abdul was uncertain about going because of the flu.
The guest list includes Simon's good friend Sir Elton John who may perform alongside Cowell's musical discoveries Leona Lewis and Il Divo. Others expected are Simon's ex-girlfriend, Terri Seymour of TV's Extra, supermodels Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss, AI make-up artist and Simon's
good friend Mezhgan Hussainy, and Simon's beloved "mum" Julie Cowell.

I'm wondering if SIMON is as mean in life as he is on TV!that guy sometimes I could choke him when I've watch him judge the people.

Simon could have turned the birthday thing into a giant fundraiser for a worthy cause instead of wasting so much money on 400 people - that's $4,000 a head if my math is right. Must be some good cake and ice cream for that kind of money.

He worked for what he has and also donates to charities. Why can't he spend money on himself? It is his money...

I think he is vastly overrated. NONE of the idol winners will ever last like the Beatles, Stones, he uses his cronies like alcoholic David Hasselhoff as judges, who are talentless.

That huge mansion is big enough for Simon's ego, but where will everyone else fit?

YOU HAVE GOT TO BE JOKING. EVEN IF HE DOES HELP THOSE IN NEED. LOOK AT THOSE THAT ARE STILL IN NEED. SIMON IS A JOKE

I'll play devils advocate this time...Simon actually gives enormous amounts to charity and has a special interest in helping disabled children. He doesn't broadcast it though. He likes to keep up his mean &nasty persona.
